Cangrejal Tours is a local community owned tour operator based in the Cangrejal River Valley. A group of local young men from the community of Las Mangas, who have had the opportunity to learn about nature and have developed a love for the local environment decided to get together and offer their services to tourists who come up to their communities. Although the focus of their tours is a local trail called the “Guaruma Trail” they also offer a variety of guided tours to other trails into both Pico Bonito National Park and Nombre de Dios National Park. Some of the guides are bilingual, and there are even a few who are fairly good bird watching guides. They work very closely with a grass roots organization called Guaruma, as well as with Cabanas Aventuras del Bosque, a community owned lodge in the community of Las Mangas, which is where their headquarters are.
