There is no doubt that the Cangrejal River Valley is a favorite among locals. It is also the most popular spot in La Ceiba for tourists! However few know that there are several Cangrejal River restaurants that you can visit there. Your best options are within the hotels that operate in the area. There are two restaurants that are open daily and others that open only during the weekends. The first two are a favorite with locals that have discovered them and can get crowded, especially on weekends during the hot days of summer. Because of that, I recommend that you arrive early, as this will ensure faster service. Following is our list of recommended Cangrejal River Restaurants
La Jungla Restaurant at Omega Tours Lodge
La Jungla is at the Omega Tours Lodge. This is the only restaurant that is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the area. It is also the only Cangrejal River restaurant to have been awarded the Atlantida Calidad Turistica badge, which is indicative of the efforts and professionalism always present here. The restaurant offers different settings, including outdoor seating which is very pleasant in the evening. During the day, they have plenty of space under a thatched roof to accommodate you in the shade. They also have a small pool which has running water from the local creek. Their menu is very creative, and they offer delicious dishes at reasonable prices. Since the owners are German, there are several German specialties in the menu, but also offer typical Honduran dishes. They have a complete international bar. English, German and Spanish are spoken on premises.

Rio Vista Restaurant at Villas Pico Bonito
If you are looking for a restaurant with a spectacular view and inviting infinity pool, look no more! Rio Vista is the most popular of the Cangrejal River Restaurants when it comes to local families in La Ceiba. It is especially popular with English speaking families in the area. Food is outstanding, but service can slow down when full. To avoid this, simply arrive early and place your order ahead of the crowds! There is an entrance fee to the Villas Pico Bonito premises, however you can apply it to your consumption. It is a policy to keep the freeloaders just looking to make use of the pool away. Of course, no food or beverage from outside are allowed. The thatched roof setting next to the pool is truly spectacular and well done. It is spacious and has a well-stocked bar with friendly service.
The menu is varied, and prices are moderate to high, but then again, so is the quality of the food served here. They are open daily from 10 am till 6 pm, which makes it mostly a place to visit for lunch. If you are feeling a bit artistic, you can ask to get their Karaoke going. Personally, I assure you are better off without people like me trying to sing. I simply cannot carry a tune!
